Obituary of Samuel Montalvo
Samuel Montalvo, age 51, of Hamden, CT born and raised in Bridgeport, suddenly passed away into the presence of the Lord on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Griffin Hospital, Derby, CT. Sammy was a great guy with a heart of gold. Sammy was a member of the Good Shepherd Christian Church for many years where he served as president of the Youth Group. He was a hard worker, amazing father, son and proud grandfather to his darling granddaughter Sophia. Sammy was a graduate of Bassick High School, class of 1978 where he played football and also during college at Southern Connecticut State University. He loved sports and did coaching for the North End Little League of Bridgeport, Bullard Havens Technical School, Masuk High School and the Boy's and Girl's Club of Shelton. Sammy will truly be missed by so many. He is the son of Victor Samuel Montalvo of Florida and the late Bienvenida Montalvo. In addition to his father he is survived by his loving wife Lourdes Montalvo and three sons Samuel Montalvo of East Haven, Matthew and Jeremy Montalvo of Fairfield; his stepchildren Nicole Myre and Daniel Taylor of Hamden; and granddaughter Sophia of East Haven; a brother Robert Montalvo of Florida and a sister Elizabeth Federici of Milford; a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews and beloved nephew to his aunts and uncles. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home Luz de Paz at 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport and funeral services on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with internment at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
