Obituary of Carlos Velez

Carlos L. Velez, Jr., age 56 of Stratford, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2014 at his Stratford residence, with his loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband of Nelly Ortiz Velez. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Carlos L. Velez and the late Carmen Torres; In addition to his wife and father he is survived by his son Carlos L. Velez; his daughters Melissa Velez Soto, Amanda Velez, Natalie Velez, Erika Velez, and Jaime L. Acevedo; His sisters Elsie Melendez, Migdalia Rodriguez, and Lissette Velez; his sixteen grandchildren; and a host of family and friends whom will dearly miss him. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 East Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT. Funeral Services have been schedule for Friday, October 10, 2014 starting at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery.
