Obituary of Carmen Acevedo

Carmen Maritza Acevedo, age 63, returned home to the Loving Arms of the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 surrounded by her loving family in Oxford. She was the beloved wife of Carlos Acevedo, Sr. Carmen was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to the late Francisco Carrion and Lydia Santiago prior to relocating to the Bridgeport area. A loving woman who loved to care and cook for her family, she was employed by the Bridgeport School System as a Teacher's Aide for over 20 years. Carmen is the mother of Carlos Acevedo, Jr., Jason, Connie, Evelyn, and Lissette Acevedo; the adoring grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and the caring sister of Victor Carrion, Betzaida Flores, Julia Concepcion, and Zoraida Rios. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 10-12 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Christian Church, 725 Hancock Ave., Bridgeport. Funeral services will follow directly after calling hours, starting at 12 p.m. Her interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield, CT.
