Obituary of Jose Medina

MEDINA Jose R. Medina, age 77, of Bridgeport passed into peaceful rest on Friday, July 7, 2006 at St. Vincent''s Medical Center. Jose was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, but became a Bridgeport resident more than 54 years ago. He was the son of the late Benigno Medina and the late Antonia Toledo. Jose was known for being an avid, lifelong, faithful Mets fan. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 57 years, Haydee Medina of Bridgeport. Along to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Jose H. Medina of Andover, Walter and Nelson Medina, both of Bridgeport; his daughters, Nylda Irizarry of Shelton and Nancy DiCostanzo of Bridgeport; nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2006 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, July 9, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
