Obituary of Amanda Hernández

Amanda Hernández, age 88, a resident of Bridgeport since 1951, died on Friday, October 6, 2006 in Golden Hill Health Care, Milford. Born in Camuy, Puerto Rico, she was the beloved wife of the late Miguel Hernandez and loved to cook and care for her family. Survivors include two sons, Anibal Hernandez of West Haven, and Alberto Hernandez of Bridgeport, and her daughter Juana Garrett of Virginia, she was predeceased by her son Ruben Hernández; 13 loving grandchildren, Elizabeth Paz, Gilbert Paz, Ivet Hernández, Emilie DelRio, Michael Paz, Susie Hernández, Marisol Hernández, Ruben Hernández Jr., Eddie Hernández, Angie Hernández, Kizzy Hernández, Jacqueline Hernández, David Hernández, and 19 cherished great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, at 9:00 A.M. in the FUNERARIA LUZ DE PAZ 426 E. WASHINGTON AVENUE, BRIDGEPORT, with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. officiated by Rev. Delsa Garay.
