Obituary of Dolores Vasco

Dolores M. Vasco, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, currently residing in West Haven, was reunited in heaven with her husband Robert G. Vasco on Thursday, March 29, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. Dolores was born on August 20, 1938 in Bridgeport, CT to Charles Steadman and Mary Orlowski. She had 2 stepbrothers , Edward Norko and Richard Norko who predeceased her, and a half brother, Charles Steadman Jr, who currently resides in Utah. In the late 50's and early 60's she worked at the Frisbee Pie Co and at New England Printing before taking on the loving responsibility of becoming a "domestic engineer". She was a doting mother to her 2 children Dawn and Bobby who she loves eternally. Dolores always had a passion for dancing and could often be found dancing at the beach in West Haven every night during the summer. She was also very crafty and loved to crochet and create other beautiful pieces of art. She enjoyed spending time and sharing laughter with her family, especially during the holidays and on special occasions. A private and humble person, she gave her time and effort to those she loved the most and lived a quiet life. Dolores is survived by the family she cherished, her son Robert Vasco Jr., of West Haven, her daughter Dawn M. Ramirez and her husband Jose W. Ramirez, and her two granddaughters whom she took great pride in, Sydney and Kristin Ramirez all of West Haven. Also want to mention her special "second daughter" Donna Gonzalez whom she also thought the world of and loved as her own. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, April 1 at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave, Bridgeport, with burial to follow at St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford. Her family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 9pm at the funeral home.
