Obituary of Esther Gomez

Esther Gomez, age 78 of Bridgeport passed into the peaceful rest of the Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in her home while surrounded by her loving family . Esther was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico before moving into the Bridgeport area many years ago. She is the daughter of the late Alejandro Melendez and the late Julia E. Cruz ; She is survived by her sons Jose L. Gomez and Israel Gomez of Puerto Rico, Alberto Gomez and Michael Gomez of Chicago, Il; Daughters Emilia Gomez of Puerto Rico, Lourdes Gomez of Philadelphia, PA, Julia E. Gomez and Iliana Gomez of Bridgeport and Jahaira Gomez of Chicago, Il; nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, March 20, 2009 beginning at 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (La Funeraria de NUESTRA Comunidad ), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport followed by a Funeral Service at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 980 Sylvan Avenue, Bridgeport; interment will follow the service in Mt.
