Obituary of Cipriano Muñiz

Cipriano Muñiz, age 83, of Bridgeport passed away into the Peaceful Rest of the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital. Cipriano was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico to the late Evaristo Muñiz and the late Emilia Mejias before moving into the Bridgeport area over 58 years ago. Cipriano was loved by all for his outgoing and friendly personality, his passion of Gardening, cooking and singing Puerto Rican Folk songs; He was a very active Member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church for many years where he was part of many groups within the church and actively involved in the Maintaining of the House of the Lord; Cipriano is survived by his beloved wife of over 62 years Margarita Muñiz of Bridgeport; In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Raphael Muñiz of Bridgeport; His daughters Nancy Prieto and her husband Juan J. Prieto, Jr. of Stratford, CT and Evelyn Muñiz and daughter in law Myrna Muñiz of Bridgeport; his grandchildren Jorge J. Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Juan J. Prieto III, Nicholas Prieto, Diego Torrens and Odette Edgeworth; nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will sorely miss him. He was predeceased by one son the late Jorge L. Muñiz and one brother the Late Pedro Muñiz; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport; Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2012 beginning at 8:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church at 9:00 A.M.
