Obituary of Maria Cruz

Cruz-Maria C. Cruz, 84, Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 22, 2006 in St. Vincent''s Medical Center with her loving family by her side; Maria was a Native of San German, Puerto Rico before moving to Bridgeport over 44 years ago. She is the daughter of the late Cornelius Cruz and the late Celia Vega Lugo; After Maria worked hard raising her children as a homemaker, she began to study and obtained a Degree in Psychology from the University of Bridgeport and another degree from Housatonic Community Technical College in Biblical Theology and received high honors in both schools; She was truly an inspiration for those who knew her. She is survived by her sons Luis Seda and Cesar Alvarado both of Bridgeport; Daughters Olga Rivera, Abby Rivera, Gloria Rivera all of Bridgeport and Loida Franseschi of Hartford; her brothers Robinson Cruz and Arsenio Cruz of Puerto Rico; sister Iris Cruz of Puerto Rico; twenty five grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends whom will dearly miss her. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, December 28, 2006, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT followed by interment in St. Michael''s Cemetery; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
