Obituary of Maria Colon

Colon-Maria Colon, age 83, of Bridgeport passed into peaceful rest in the Arms of God on Friday, August 08, 2008, in Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico before moving into the Bridgeport area many years ago. She is the daughter of the late Emilio Vazquez and the late Maria Hernandez; She is survived by her sons Jose Antonio Colon, Jose Angel Colon, Enudio Colon, and Heriberto Colon; Her daughters Carmen L. Marrero, Maria R. Irizarry and Ide Collazo; twenty four grandchildren, thirty eight Great Grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 beginning at 8:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (La Funeraria de NUESTRA Comunidad), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Roman Catholic Church at 9:00 A.M.; Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, (TODAY), August 10, 2008 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
