Obituary of Ramona Avila-Caez
Ramona Avila-Caez, "Chita", age 76 of Bridgeport, entered into the arms of the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2007 at St. Vincent''s Medical Center after a long illness, which she fought with great courage and determination. Ramona was a native of Maricao, Puerto Rico. She is the daughter of the late Celestino Avila and the late Estervina Rivera. Ramona was a retired employee of Angelica Health Care. "Chita''s" greatest passion was gardening along with cooking and spending time with her loving family. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband and soul mate Rafael Caez; her son Angel David Baez; her daughters Monsie Baez-Falcon and Carmen Ruiz; Brothers Celestino, Ramon, and Raul Avila; Sisters Angela Crespo, Rosa Rodriguez, Maria Rivera, Olga DeCampos, Mercedes Rosado, Gladys Ramos; Grandchildren Eddie, Eric, and Stephanie Falcon, Angel Baez Jr., Amy and Madeline Correa; Great-grandchildren: David, Nathan and Nataliya Otero, Juan and Anayeli Rosado, Eddie, Elizabeth and Emily Baez; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ramona is pre-deceased by three brothers Ceasar, Jesus M., and Gonzalo Avila. "Chita" will be remembered for her love and compassion for others. She will trully be missed by all of her relatives and friends. Calling Hours will take place on Sunday, May 20, 2007 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., in Bridgeport. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, May 21, 2007 at 8:00 A.M. at the funeral home. A mass of Christian Burial is planned to take place at St. Peter''s Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment will take place at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield, CT.
