Obituary of Carmen Ortiz

Carmen L. Ortiz, age 56, currently of New Haven, CT passed into the restful sleep of the Lord on Friday, October 14, 2011 in Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT; Carmen was born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico but had moved to the United States many years ago, resided in Bridgeport for many years prior to relocating most recently to New Haven. She is the daughter of the Late Eligio Ortiz and Basilisa Ortiz of Bridgeport; In addition to her mother she is survived by her sons Michael Ortiz, Pablo Pomales (Nicole Burns), and Benson Morales (Erica Blanco); Daughters Veronica Morales and Nancy Rodriguez; 11 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. Her fiance Ruben Velazquez of New Haven, CT; She was predeceased by her son the late Hector Pomales. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport; Gathering will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2011at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home with a departure at 10:15 A.M. for burial in Mt.
