Obituary of Jose Ortiz

Jose Antonio Ortiz age 67, of Bridgeport, CT passed away into the peaceful rest of the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford, CT. Jose was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico on June 12, 1946, the son of the late Carmelo Ortiz and the late Juana Perez. Jose relocated to Bridgeport, CT many years ago. He worked at Nick's Carting, but away from work he enjoyed his favorite past time of fishing. Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Montalvo and eight children, including sons, Elvin and wife Christine, Jimmy and wife Theresa, Michael and wife Jesenia and Joseph Ortiz and wife Christie, daughters Betsy Cuevas, Diana Marquez, Jackie Hernandez and Veronica Rossi and husband Frank; twenty-four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who will lovingly remember him as "Tony". His suffering and pain is over now that he is with God. May the Lord bless his caring and generous spirit. Jose will forever be in our hearts. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2014 starting with a mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
