Obituary of Elena Rodriguez

Elena Cruzado Rodriguez, age 82, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with Cancer. Born in Manati, PR on August 18, 1931 to the late Santos Correa Cruzado and Inocencia Robles was a resident of Jacksonville, Fl for the past 19 years and former resident of Bridgeport, CT since the early 70's. She loved cooking and tending to her garden and plants. She was a woman with godly values that understood that her strength came from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She was kind, sweet and generous and had a silly sense of humor. She was committed to her family and dearly loved them. She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Nanette Melendez of Bridgeport, CT; Jessica L. Rodriguez of Jacksonville, Fl; three granddaughters, Sarah Renee McCarthy­Aguirre, Niaryan Rodriguez, Ariela L. Rivera. two brothers, Santos Cruzado and Emilio Cruzado both of Bridgeport, CT; Georgina "Gina" Cruzado of Queens, NY; Smirna "Minnie" Alejandro of Cape Coral, Fl; Carmen Gloria Rupp of Las Vegas, NV; Alba Mondezie of Statesville, NC. She was predeceased by a brother Wilfredo "Freddie" Cruzado and one sister Carmen Gloria Cruzado; The homecoming celebration will take place onTuesday, February 11, 2014 from 6:00-­9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue Bpt, CT. Funeral Services have been scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
