Obituary of Ana Melo

Ana Maria Melo, 61, of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest on Monday October 14, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. Ana was born on March 1, 1952 on the Azores Island of Terceira, Portugal, the daughter of the late Maria Teresa & Jose Xavier Arruda. She immigrated with family to Bridgeport in 1972. Ana was a strong and courageous woman who endured a life of illness and pain. She was a fighter who never complained. A true angel on earth with an enormous caring heart. A loving mother and grandmother, she lived every day of her life for her family. Ana loved her nine grandchildren with all her heart. She has moved on to her new life in heaven and will be greatly missed here on earth. Ana is survived by her three children, daughter Sonia Melo-Rodriguez and husband Alexi Rodriguez of Bridgeport, daughter Monique Melo and fiancé William Miranda of Bridgeport, & son Remigio Melo Jr. and wife Diana Gomez of Bridgeport.; her 9 Grandchildren Alexiana, Bianca, & AJ Rodriguez, William, Justin, Jerimiah & Aniya Miranda, Lucas & Madison Melo of Bridgeport. Ana also leaves behind a caring sister Teresinha Figueiredo and husband Abraao of Peabody, MA, her loving aunt and uncle, Antonio & Maria dos Anjos Melo of Milford. Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will also be survived by Ana. A mass will be held on Friday October 18, 2013 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church 429 Huntington Rd, Bridgeport, CT, with interment following at St. Michael's Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave, Stratford, CT. Friends and Family are welcome to celebrate Ana's love of flowers by sending remembrances to Our Lady of Fatima Church for her mass.
