Tia Sonia was like a mother to us we were blessed to have her in time of need.
We will miss her dearly. I will always remember how amazing she’s was and all the life she touched. My memory of tia Sonia was when she enrolled me in public school for the first time. I was in first grade. I was so scared, I started crying and wouldn’t let her leave for two weeks I made her stay in class with me.
I have tremendous gratitude for all she did for us. Monica you were lucky to have her as your mom. She raised you well. May God continue to bless you and family.

Sending my deepest condolences to Monica and the family , tia sonia was like a mother to me she cared for me and my sister and mother many times she never turned us away when we needed a place to stay or a meal to eat , I remember waiting desperately for her classic chicken soup meal to be ready while watching mr. Rodgers at a round kitchen table , she would take me to a vegetable fruit stand on ward ave in the bronx to pick up things to prepare food , she was always so kind and loving towards us , she would make sure me and maria took our pink little iron pills to stay healthy and don't you dare cough at night she would always rush in with the vix to make sure your breathing , i would always see her praying on her knees on the side of the bed , these are memories that i will forever cherish in my heart , i love you tia sonia and thank you for everything .

Our deepest condolences to Mrs Monica Perry and family. I knew her as Tia or Titi Sonia. She was very beautiful with the most beautiful blue eyes. She loved her nephews and nieces. She came to live with her brother Alfredo Irizarry when I was very young. Alfredo was my father (very good looking) might I add. Well one day my father found himself alone with 5 kids in the house. And Titi became our 2nd mother. There was Alfredo Jr, Belen (me), Robert, David, and beautiful Zoraida. We learned very fast that she was good at fitting the part.Titi was very old school with deep rooted morals. She always kept Junior with her. We were a bunch of cousins, known as the Irizarry Clan. She was so loved by so many. I stand here today in the presence of many that are unable to be here today. I am here for Alice Miriam, Ruthie, Rose, Alex, Louis (Papo), Daniel, just to name a few. With the warmest heart we all light a candle to a great Lady. Monica a beautiful miracle baby that was loved so much by her mother. She did what God said in his commandments.
