Obituary of Carmen Lopez

Carmen Iris Lopez, age 81, returned to the loving Arms of the Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 in New Haven, surrounded by love. She was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico; daughter of the lat Alfonso Viera and Flora Vazquez, prior to relocating to the Bridgeport area many years ago. Carmen always loved parties and was known as being a very happy person. She was extremely giving, but was always tough when she had to be. She was an amazing mother and even better grandmother who fought a valiant fight until the very end. Carmen is the loving mother of Jose Lopez, Carmen Iris Lopez, Edwin Lopez, Nilza Lopez, Daniel Lopez, Migdalia Lopez, Alicia Lopez, Maritza Lopez, and Adriana Lopez; the caring grandmother of 48 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Edgardo Lopez. Friends and family are invited to attend Calling Hours on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06608. A Mass of Christian Burial is TO BE CONFIRMED on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, beginning at 11 a.m. Her interment will follow at Park Cemetery, 600 Lindley St. Bridgeport, CT 06606.
