Obituary of Sonia Figueroa

Sonia Figueroa, age 60, the beloved daughter of Felix Alicea and Virginia Marin, born in Manati, Puerto Rico, suddenly passed into the peaceful yet Glorious rest of the Lord on October 24, 2019 in Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT; Sonia moved to Bridgeport many years ago and has resided here since where she along with her spouse the late Julio Sanchez had resided for many years. Sonia was a vibrant woman who lived for her children and grandchildren and focused every bit of her energy into living for them and loving them. Words could never explain how unexpected her departure was and how they feel because the chance to say goodbye was never the option, but they trust in God's everlasting love, His mercies, and His tenderness which they know embraced her, took her by her hand and immediately overcame her entirety with the peace and tenderness only He knows how to provide. Until we meet again, way beyond the skies

Besides her parents, Sonia leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Josue (Adalis) Figueroa, Alexander (Rosa) Figueroa and Angel Hernandez; Her Daughters Yetsevel (Walter) Nieves, Sheila (Armando Rivera) Figueroa; her grandchildren whom she adored Alexis Almodovar, Yetsely Nieves, Glendaliz Delgado, Ashely Rivera, Neycha Figueroa, Basilio Figueroa, Christian Perez, Jiovanni Figueroa, Luis Figueroa, Sujey Figueroa and Josue Figueroa; Her siblings Edwin, Rosa, Jorge, Julio, Luis, Angel, Ivette, Wanda, Blanca, Carmen, Manuel, Julio, Jr., Felix Antonio and Luz Alicea; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom will dearly miss her. She was also predeceased by her daughter the late Sujey Figueroa;

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, November 1, 2019 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home and she will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery soon right after the service;
