Obituary of Segundo Lopez-Ortiz

Segundo Lopez-Ortiz, age 60 of Stratford, returned to the Loving Arms of the Lord on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico; son of the late Segundo Lopez and Isabel Ortiz prior to relocating to the Bridgeport area many years ago. Segundo is the loving father of Isabel Lopez, Caridad Lopez, and Yasenia Maldonado; the caring grandfather of Orlando Estrada, Edward Estrada, Dommic Gomes, Iliana Gonzalez, and Aiden Maldonado; the great-grandfather of Jazlyn Estrada; and the caring brother of Angela Delgado, Maria Santiago, Francisca Lopez, Fernando Lopez, Jose D. Lopez, Rosa Lopez, Elvis Lopez, and William Lopez. He is also survived by many other family members and friends that will sorely miss him. A hard working, gentle and responsible man, Segundo's true passion was fishing. Regardless of the weather - rain, snow, or ice - he would be out getting his next catch. He was a diehard Patriots and Red Sox fan, but most of all Segundo will be remembered as kind, gentle, and loving. He was loved by all of his friends and had a deep belief in God, often saying that: "Without God, there is nothing." responsible. Segundo, above all, loved his family; always bringing them together. Friends and family are invited to attend Calling Hours on Thursday, October 24, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06608. His Funeral Service is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 25, 2019. His interment will follow at Mt. Grove Easton Cemetery.
