Obituary of Maria Mendez Diaz

Maria Mendez Diaz, age 75 of Bridgeport, returned to the Loving Arms of the Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Segundo Ruiz, Sr. Maria was born in Patillas, Puerto Rico prior to relocating to Bridgeport area many years ago. She enjoyed traveling, especially to her beloved island of Puerto Rico. Maria was extremely artistic - she enjoyed sewing and making jewelry, but most of all adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered by all as a kind and generous woman, who would stop at nothing to help another in need. Maria is the loving mother of William Ruiz, Maria S. Lopez, Rosita Ruiz, Luz D. Lopez, Gladys Ruiz, and Segundo Ruiz, Jr.; the adoring grandmother of 18 and the caring sister of Francisca Mendez, Isabel Mendez, Francisco Mendez, Pablo Mendez, Iris Montanez, Angel Montanez, Carmen Montantez, Marta Montanez, Jesus Montanez, and Mercedes Montanez. Friends and family are invited to attend Calling Hours on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 391 Ogden St, Bridgeport, CT 06608.
