Candido M. "CANO" Santiago, age 76, of Bridgeport has entered the heavens above on June 14, 2019 in Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT. Candido whom many graciously called Cano was born in Lares, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the United States over 48 years ago; Cano enjoyed fishing, time gambling but above all spending quality time with his family; He was a talented Carpenter but most knew him for his unparalleled sense of Humor; Cano is the son of the late Mateo Santiago Molina and the late Susana Santiago Guzman; He is survived by his "Soulmate" Aurea "Tita" Morales whom he united with over 48 years ago; his eleven children Wilson Santiago and his spouse Medellin, Candido Santiago, Jr. and his spouse Laura, Carmen Julie DeJesus and her spouse Miguel, Marinet Perez and her spouse Edward, Carmen Comerford and her spouse David, Marisol Vera and her spouse Miguel, Herminia Morales and her spouse David, Maria Rosado, Paul Morales and his spouse Janet, Miguel Angel Torres and his spouse Maribel, and Gloria "Nani" Turley; 28 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom will sorely miss him. in addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son the late Luis Santiago, Brothers, the late Miguel Angel Santiago, the late Francisco Santiago and the late Jose Santiago, his sisters, the late Francisca Santiago, the late Elizabeth Santiago and the late Maria Luisa Santiago and one grand-daughter the late Marinet Vera; Special thanks to his caregiver Beatriz de La Cruz whom he appreciated each day as she cared for him above and beyond a standard level of care, yet the level as if he was her family; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 5-8 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT; Final viewing will take place on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Church, Stratford, CT; Final disposition will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
