Obituary of Candida Rosa Vazquez

Candida Vazquez, age 88, the beloved daughter of the late Pedro Martinez and the late Paula Ortiz has passed into the peaceful rest of the Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2019 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT; Candida was born in 1930 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the United States mainland many years ago; A sweet soul, and beautifully aged, silver sterling hair, you couldn't help but fall in love with the wonderful person she was. She loved her family with everything within her and looked forward to spending her days with them. She was a fighter and wouldn't just give in to health concerns, although over 10 years ago she had been told she would be limited in doing certain things, yet exceeded to levels way beyond what they would have expected her to reach.

Candida is survived by her sons, Jose Vargas and his wife Karen, John "CODY" Vazquez and his wife Madeline, Hector Vazquez and his wife Elizabeth, and Marco Vazquez; her only daughter Rosabel Vargas; two sisters Aurea Ribot and Monserrate Falcon; fourteen grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives whom will dearly miss her; she was predeceased in addition to her parents one son the Late Alexander Vazquez;

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, June 9, 2019, from 4-6 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06608;

Funeral Services have been scheduled for Monday, June 10, 2019, beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Augustine's Cathedral at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT
