Obituary of Luz Milagros Colon Martinez

Luz Milagros "Miriam" Colon Martinez-age 62, beloved daughter of the late Saturno Colon Cruz and the late Juana Negron Cruz has returned to the Glorious presence of the Lord on Sunday, May 27, 2019 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT; Miriam as many graciously knew her was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the United States at an early age of five and has resided here since. Luz was an amazing woman whom loved nothing more than spending her time with her family, taking care of her home, making sure everything was in order and never skipped a beat with everyone in her family whom she loved with all her heart. She was talented to a level very few have reached in knitting and at talent she used to bless many in making baby clothing and other precious, priceless items, just because she wanted to bless them from her heart; She enjoyed countless hours of listening to music and playing endless hours with her grandchildren; Miriam loved the Lord and never stopped enjoying his presence throughout her life and the reason she was able to share His love to everyone she came across because it resided in her. She had a contagious personality and whomever met her, immediately would have a connection, feeling they were talking to someone whom it seemed they knew for years not just moments; Truly genuine, and unique; She was a great cook and her home bared witness as many enjoyed her hands in the kitchen.

She was survived by her husband Edwin Martinez of Bridgeport; her son Ezamuel Martinez; her daughters Luz B. Velazquez (Jose Vega), Jessica Velazquez and Yessenia Martinez; Her Siblings Jose Colon, Orlando Colon, Gladys Arroyo, Ada Ortiz, Marisol Colon, and Olga Hernandez: Her grandchildren Ernest Morales, Jr., Janina Morales, Liliani Vega, Dayna Vazquez, Alyssa Vazquez, Janaya Vazquez, Samia Carrion, Gabriella Carrion, Giuliana Carrion and Jaeliesse Rivera; Her great grandchildren Leilani Morales, George M. Santiago, Jaliyah Morales, Armani Morales,and Alaina Alicea; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom will dearly miss her. Without hesitation she heard the words, "Come to me, good and faithful servant, enter into the Presence of your Lord; In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by one Special grandson the late Christopher Santiago Velazquez, her sisters the late Juanin Morales, the late Maria Amaro and the late Nora Carmona:

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 4-6 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06608; Final disposition will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 beginning at 2:30 P.M. directly at the Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT;
