Obituary of Mia Tarai McSwain
Mia Tarai McSwain, age 36 of Bridgeport, returned to the Loving Arms of the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2019. She was born in Bridgeport, daughter of Carmen (Tim) Testa and Tony (Jen) McSwain. Mia will be remembered for her creativity, which she utilized in every facet of her life, especially her art.
She was an active member of White Oak Baptist Church, Stratford, CT for the past couple years where she enjoyed being closer to God each day.
She is the loving mother of Malachi McSwain and Nia-Mae McSwain; the caring sister of Laura Lemus, Sandra Archuletta, Desiree Velazquez, Crystal Siler, Tony Cheek, and Rayvon Cheek; and the granddaughter of Sharon and Rayvon McSwain. Mia is also survived by many other family members and friends that will sorely miss her.
Friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, Connecticut 06608. A service will follow directly after. Her interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, 855 Boston Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06610.
