Obituary of Allison Craddock

He Came, He Saw, He Conquered….A Life Well-Lived”

Allison Lee Craddock

August 30, 1965 to March 20, 2019

Allison Lee Craddock was the baby of six children born to Gladys Craddock and the late Alfred Lee Craddock Sr. on August 30, 1965 in Bridgeport, CT.  Allison attended Bassick High School and completed D&L Tractor Trailer School in 2005.  As a young child Allison was energetic, loved outdoors, car shows, western movies The Blues and Old School Gospel and most of all spending times with his friends.  Many of his friends remained very close and supported him with visits and calls when he was diagnosed with ALS; you would often hear them refer to each other as “BROTHER”.    By the age of 11 Allison was taught how to ride a motorcycle by his father and as he grew he enjoyed riding with his buddies and stopping by “The Island” to shoot the breeze with friends.  Allison’s passion for driving often found him moving friends, family and whoever would need a ride.  Allison’s true ride or die was his mother---they had a special bond like none other!

Allison leaves to cherish his memory, his ever-dedicated mother, Gladys Craddock, companion, Marcella Cochran. A daughter, Tieisha Craddock (James “Wooby” Jefferson) of Bridgeport, CT,  a son, Rashad Lee Craddock of Bridgeport, and  his daughter, Khlo’e  Hamilton - Craddock of North Carolina.  He also leaves to cherish his memory; Siblings: Patricia L. Dodson, of Bridgeport, CT, Alfred (Merita) Craddock Jr of Conyers, GA, Mechelle Craddock-Spence and his brother-in-love, Keith Spence of Westville, CT.  Allison loved his nieces and nephews: Thomas (Carl), Kyshe, Aprie, Demetrius, Andrea (Derrick), Ataras, Demetra, Keichelle, LaNeshe (Tim), Andre, Artay, Kemeya, Amber, Kobi and Tyree.  He is also survived by one aunt Anna Belle Smith of Chase City, VA and an uncle, Albert (Mary) Craddock of Skipwith, VA and a beloved sister Rev. Sharon Craddock. Allison was pre-deceased by his father, Alfred Lee Craddock Sr. and his sisters Carol Craddock and Teresa Hunter.

Allison was formerly employed by Star Distributors and The City of Bridgeport, and most recently North East Building Supply.  He was FULL OF LIFE and ADVENTURE he loved to visit, travel and joke around; however, after a debilitating work accident, and then becoming stricken with ALS, he could no longer visit. He was grateful to be surrounded by friends, “brothers,” spiritual advisors, and counsellors who visited him with laughter, music, good memories, and love.

Friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 9 to 10 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Park Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06604. A Service will follow.
