Obituary of Maria de Lourdes Medina

Maria deLourdes Medina, age 53, the beloved daughter of Juan L. Medina and Emerita Piedra and her husband the late Alberto G. Piedra Sr., has passed into the presence of the Lord on February 6, 2019 in her home.  Maria was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the Bridgeport area many years ago.  Maria was a lovely woman, with a heart of Gold. Her untimely passing leaves so many questions, a feeling of being shortchanged by life itself, but we know, God's infinite mercy surrounded her, understanding that everything in God's hands could never be in a more loving place than in the arms of the Master.  Besides her parents, Maria leaves to cherish her memory her two sons Jose Ortiz (Gina), and William Santiago (Vladrose);  her siblings, Miguel Medina, Hector Medina, Rene Medina, Jorge L. Medina, Migdalia Medina and Janette Rivera; her grandchildren Lisette Santiago, Natalia Santiago and Nathan Ortiz; Stepgrandkids Frankie, Kianna and Keanou; and a host of Nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts, uncles & other relatives and friends whom will dearly miss her.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, February 11, 2019, from 6-8 PM. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. 

Funeral Services have been scheduled for Tuesday, February 12, 2019, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
