Obituary of Luz Virginia Rivera

Luz Virginia Rivera, "Blanca" as so many graciously knew her as, of age 63,  the beloved daughter of the late Carmelo Cruz and the late Juana Maria Hernandez, has entered the peaceful yet eternal presence of the Lord on Tuesday, Feburary 5, 2019 in ST. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT while surrounded by her loving family.  Luz was born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the Bridgeport Area many years ago. Blanca Loved the Lord and for many years was a congregant of the Church of God Center of Life (Iglesia de Dios, Centro de Vida).  When service was going good for her, and she felt God's presence, Blanca would shout from her seat,"Esto Si esta bueno ".  She was mother to many who she came across and her doors were always open to receive everyone who came through. Although her health was declining she never once failed to greet you with a smile, with the disposition and assertion and wish God's Blessing over you.  A Golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands now at rest, God broke the hearts of many, yet they know, HE only takes the best; Blanca will be sadly missed by many, yet forgotten by none.

Luz leaves to cherish her memory her husband Efrain Rivera, Sr.; her sons Efrain Rivera, Jr., Armando Rivera, Gilberto Hernandez, Alberto Hernandez and David Hernandez;  Her daughters Patricia Rivera, Migdalia Hernandez, Sara Morales, Maria Hernandez and Denise Jackson;  her siblings Jose Maria Hernandez, Juan Manuel Morales, David Hernandez, Yolanda Hernandez, Lourdes Iris Morales, Aurea Mercedes Hernandez; Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, ralatives and friends whom will dearly miss her. 

Friends are invited to attend calling hours Scheduled for Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 5-7 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT;

Funeral services have been scheduled for Monday, February 11, 2019 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral Home followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT;
