Obituary of Maria Nuñez

Maria Nuñez, age 104, returned to the Loving Arms of the Lord on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at her residence in Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Sergio Nuñez. Maria was born in Jayuya Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Ramon Ayala. She loved cooking and especially enjoyed playing dominoes. Maria leaves a legacy of love behind her; and will be missed by all. She is survived by her children: Wilfredo Nuñez and her beloved daughter-in-law Marta Nuñez, William Nuñez, and Sergio Nuñez, Jr. and his wife Ramona Nuñez; 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren; her siblings: Merida Rodriguez and Jorge Ayala. She was predeceased by 2 infant children and many brothers and sisters.  Friends and Family are invited to attend Calling Hours on Thursday, January 3, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Families First at Luz de Paz) 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Her Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 4, 2018 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Bridgeport.
