Obituary of Rosa Poma Leon
Rosa E. Poma Leon (formerly Manrique), age 70, a longtime Stamford resident, passed away suddenly on October 27, 2012. Born on September 14, 1942 in Lima, Peru. She is the daughter of the late Reynaldo Poma and Natalia Poma (Gamboa). She is predeceased by her brother, Enrique and father, Reynaldo Poma. She is survived by her husband, Gregorio Leon, her previous husband , Victor Manrique, their children, Cecilia Stephens, Patty Velez, Rafael Manrique, and Edye Nunez, her mother Natalia and siblings, Carmen, Luis, and Julio Poma, and her 11 beloved grandchildren, Cathy, Ashley, Melissa, Anthony, Cindy, Julie, Angel (AJ), Andrew, Benny, Sarah, and Ethan. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed tremendously by all that knew her as she had a big heart and always welcomed anyone to her home unconditionally. Calling Hours will be Sunday, November 4, 2012, from 3-5 pm at Funeraria Luz de Paz, Peaceful Light Funeral Home, (426 East Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT). Funeral Services will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, beginning at the Funeral Home at 9:30 am followed by a 11 am Mass at St. Mary's Church, 540 Elm St. Stamford, CT. Interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave. Darien, CT.
