Obituary of Elizabeth Cruz

Elizabeth Cruz, age 93, the beloved widow of the late Miguel Cruz Sr. went to be with Jesus on June 15, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  Elizabeth was born in Don Alonzo,  Utuado, Puerto Rico; She is the daughter of the late Pastor Emiliano Rios and the late Anastasia Agueda. In 1958,  she moved with her husband and children to Bridgeport;  She was a talented seamstress and excellent cook to her family.  She served for many years as a Sunday School teacher, Deaconess and in the Women's Ministry at the Good Shepherd Christian Church; in the past 20 years she was a faithful member and Pilar of the Christian Revival Church. She was a gentle soul who loved her family dearly and a blessing to all who came in contact with her.   Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory her Daughter Rev. Damaris Perez;  her sons Miguel Cruz, Jr. and his wife Elva, Jose M. Cruz and his wife Rosa; her brothers Jose Rios and Emilio Rios and his wife Hilda; her grandchildren Frankie Perez Jr (Cindy), Maribell Azevedo (Ollie), Miguel Cruz III (Ademarie), Jose M. Cruz, Jr. (Ruth) & Mathew Cruz (Nildaliz); six great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who adore her;  She was predeceased by her infant son the late Ruben Cruz,  her brother the late Rev. Benjamin Rios & Son in Law the Late Rev. Francisco Perez; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, June 18 from 6 :00 P.M. until the end of the Service at the Christian Revival Church, 441 Bishop Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Funeral Services have been scheduled for Tuesday, June 19,  beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Church followed by interment in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield, CT;  The Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Where everyone is treated like Family ), has been given the honor to provide services for Elizabeth and an honor we don't take lightly, Therefore, please leave a note, a picture, a video or a prayer for the family on her Exclusive Memorial Webpage which is found EXCLUSIVELY at www.luzdepaz.com
