Obituary of Maria Teresa Padilla

Maria Teresa Padilla, age 65, most recently of Port St. Lucie, FL, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico;  Maria is the daughter of the late Feliciano Mateo and Santa Rodriguez but had relocated to the Bridgeport area many years ago then most recently moving to Port St. Lucie to be close to her family. She is the widow of the Late  Samuel Padilla, Sr., whom  she had been married to for over 46 years before his passing in 2014.  Today, He  who united them on this earth has Reunited them in the Heaven's above.  Maria is the loving mother of Maritza Padilla-Lopez, Cynthia Padilla, Samuel Padilla, Jr., Shaun Padilla, Michelle Padilla-Santiago and Steven Padilla; the caring sister of Samuel Mateo, Rufina Mateo, Elba Mateo, Carmen Rivera, Ana Mateo, and Rosa Mateo; and the adoring grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend Calling Hours on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 9 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Her interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
