Obituary of Asuncion Llanos

Asuncion Llanos, age 99, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at her residence in Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Filomeno Llanos. She was born i n Carolina, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Frederico and Alejandra Rivera. Asuncion worked as a seamstress for many years, though her true passion was caring for her family, whom she loved fiercely. She was a very religious woman whose doors were always open to those in need. She is the loving mother of Carmen Jaiman; caring grandmother of Jennifer Rearden and David Jaiman; the great grandmother of Marcus Rearden, Michael Rearden, Jackie Rearden and Anjanay Vincent-Jamain; and the sister of Maria Isabel Rivera and Adelina Rodriguez. She is also survived by her great grandpets Buster Brown, Sacrlet, and Zuma; and numerous nieces and nephews who will sorely miss their "Titi." She also lovingly served as godmother to the Rosario and Perez families. She was predeceased by her son Gilberto Llanos and her brothers Alejandro Rivera, Roman Rivera, Frederico Rivera, and Providencia Rivera Landrau. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport from 5 pm to 8 pm. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, September 17, 2016 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bridgeport. Her burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
