Old Friend, we reconnected after 3 decades, we enjoyed a few months chatting on the phone, laughing and reminiscing of the good old days and now you’re gone. This to me is a message from God that in the few short months that you had left, we were able to say what we needed to say and needed to remember. My last conversation with you we laughed good and hard said our “I love you’s” and then that was it! My first BFF, you are to me, chasing boys, boys chasing us, skipping school, Salsa dancing, pool hall sharks winning quarters, Boones Farm Wine, a little Chiba, Khaki pants, glitter platform shoes, 70’s music blasting, corny jokes, Seaside Park, vintage earrings, halter tops, 50 Avon nail polishes, cruising in my green Karman Gia and Hilario in the pumpkin patch. May God be with Hilario and Emily, Carmen and all the family in their hours of need. You never lose someone that you keep alive in conversation and in memory, until we meet again and we will, keep a seat warm for me.
