Obituary of Felipe Ortiz

Felipe (Rubio) Ortiz Jr, 71 passed away peacefully at Gardener Heights Nursing Facility in Shelton, Ct on April 2nd, 2016. He was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, lived in Bridgeport, Ct for most of his life with some time in Woonsocket, RI and back to where his heart truly was here in Connecticut with his family. He was a man proud to have worked 38 years at Handy & Harmon in Fairfield before it's closure where he then worked for Technic, Inc in Woonsocket, RI until his Retirement. Felipe is the Son of Felipe Ortiz Sr & Eufemia Lopez Ortiz - both pre-deceased. He is also pre-deceased by his Brother Inocencio Ortiz. Survivors Include his Son Efrem Ortiz of Ansonia, Ct, and Daughter Silvia Martins (Spouse John) of Stratford, Ct. His former Wife and Mother to Efrem & Silvia, Mercedes Millhouse. Additionally he is survived by his Daughter Angela "Millie" Harp (Spouse James). He also leaves behind his Brother Jose Ortiz (Spouse Veronica) of Bridgeport, CT as well as his Sister Luz Benigna Rivera of Trujillo Alto, PR. His Grandchildren Roberto Harp (Spouse Latasha), Jamil & Tre and three great-grandchildren, Nazir, Jibrei and Ayaan as well as Aunts, Cousins, Nieces & Nephews with many Friends who loved him dearly. The Family would like to extend a very special THANK YOU to the staff at Gardener Heights that took loving care of Felipe for the past few years. We could never re-pay you enough for the love, care, dignity and compassion shown to him until the end. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, April 7th, 2016 at 11am at the Funeraria Luz de Paz 426 E. Washington Ave.; Bridgeport, CT followed by a Service in the funeral home at 1pm.
