Obituary of Mariana Planas

Mariana Planas, age 81, of Bridgeport, beloved widow of the late Victor Planas, has made Glorious entrance into Heaven above on January 3, 2016 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT while surrounded by her loving family. Mariana was born in Bo. Achiote in Naranjito, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the Bridgeport area many years ago. Mariana loved music and enjoyed countless hours of playing her guitar and singing and was part at one time of the Choir of St. Mary's Church of which she was a member of the Parish for over 40 years. A cursillista of St. Mary's Parish and avid Mets fan, her joy in life was her quality time with her Grandchildren spoiling them as only Grandma can do. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Victor Planas and his spouse Brenda and Adalberto Planas and his spouse Maryann; two grandsons Adalberto Planas, Jr. and Emmanuel Planas; and an endless count of family and friends and other parishioners of her parish which will dearly miss her. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT; Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, January 9, 2015 beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Parish, Bridgeport, CT; Interment will follow in ST.
