Obituary of Irma Mendez Cuevas

Irma Mendez Cuevas, age 84, of Stratford passed away into the Glorious Presence of the Lord on January 3, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital while surrounded by her loving family. She is the daughter of the late Segundo Quiñones and the late Carmen Villanueva. She is also the widow of the late Luis Cuevas. she was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico but she has been a Stratford resident for many years. Irma is survived by her sons David Mendez (Lillian) and Hector Mendez (Brenda); her daughters Madeline Amalbert, Irma Morton (William), Elizabeth Williams (Andre), Nancy Arguellas (Jose), and Yvette Acevedo (Raul); many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Her joy and vivacious personality will leave a void in the hearts only her memory can fill. In addition to her parents and spouse she was predeceased by hers sons Luis Mendez and Anibal Mendez and her former spouse Pedro Luis Mendez. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with a service in the funeral home at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
