Man...Doug you were a great friend of mine from six years of work at Bridgeport Hospital. Whether it was on the line, or while I'll wash pots, you were always great company, cheerful, respectful, and even welcoming to my Mom - always greeting her with "Mrs. Gomes" when you saw her. I remember how excited you were when you got the Kobe V's, we both got the same one! I'll always have great memories of you walking around the kitchen with a smile. It's sad that you've left us, and our thoughts are with your wife Carmen and family. You always spoke great things about her. May your family have strength during this time. It saddened me so much to hear about Doug's passing. I just saw him last week in the cafeteria and as always, he smiled and said hello to me. As for many of us here at Bridgeport Hospital the news of Doug's passing was a total shock. I have known Doug for 30+ years and in all that time he was always a positive and uplifting force. Always with a smile and kind word whenever our paths would cross. I last saw Doug on Friday while leaving work after a difficult day. As always he gave me his huge smile and a wave. I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. I have worked with Doug for many years at Bridgeport Hospital and whenever I saw Doug in the Cafe he would always make me smile and feel special, that was his way, his blessings that he bestowed on us. To Doug and his family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Doug and I grew up together working in the kitchen at Bridgeport Hospital he was one of the most kind hearted, nicest guys I've ever known. I was so very sad with the news of Doug's passing. I worked for many years at Bridgeport Hospital and knew Douglas very well. He was just the best! What a remarkable person he was...so caring and so personable to all that knew him. He was a great friend to me especially so when I would talk to him about my problems in life. May he rest in peace in the arms of the Lord. My heart breaks for each and every one of you. I am presently with my fiance, Dom in Florida who is battling Stage 4 lung cancer, or else I would be present at his services. My deepest sympathy and prayers for strength to all of you. To the family of Douglas Wall, my deepest most heartfelt condolences. I worked at Bridgeport Hospital for 37 years. Douglas was always a pleasure whenever I was in the cafeteria or hallway. He would always great me and ask how my family was doing. He would even tell me how he made certain dishes when I complimented him on his culinary expertise. I was shocked to hear of his passing.
