Obituary of Oscar Colon

Oscar "Finito" Colon, age 69, of Bridgeport passed away into the peaceful rest of the Lord on March 9, 2015 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Oscar was born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to the late Victorio Colon and the Late Santos Rivera; He is the beloved husband of Nicolasa Colon whom he married over 47 years ago. Oscar was a humble, caring man who enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of nature, thus his love for landscaping which he did for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Oscar M. Colon, Daisy Colon, Wilfredo (Sabina) Colon, Marisol Albaladejo, Omaira (Willie) Colon-Hill, Maribel (Artur) Calvao and Barbara Colon; His brothers Jose Colon, Victor Colon, Angel Luis Colon, Rafael Colon; His sisters Felicita, Santos and Carmen Gloria Colon, Anastacia Rivera and Ana Rosa Martinez; 24 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom will dearly miss him. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sisters the late Margarita Colon and the Late Christina Rodriguez; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT; Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. George Roman Catholic Church; interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT; in Lieu of Flowers memorial donations may be made at the funeral home the night of the wake or directly to the family.
