One of my fondest memories of Pat was sadly quite along time ago. After my family relocated to Florida in '96 I had few opportunities to spend time with pat. In 2003 our cousin was getting married so I went to Haiti for a month. My uncle sent 2 pick up trucks to the airport to pick up all the people flying in from the New York area, I was thrilled when I saw pat was one of the arrivals. Over the course of the time that we both were there we spent a considerable amount of time together, it was really great catching up seeing as i had only seen him briefly 1 time before then since the 90's! some of the cool things we did was go driving around the city with Uncle Bob. we had a chance to stop by the Museum, where the anchor of one of Columbus's ships is held. Richardson scored us some tickets and we went and saw T-Vice perform live. That trip really allowed me to see the kind of wonderful person pat was. I always thought pat was serious but little did I know he liked to have a good time just like me. He seemed to genuinely want to spend time with me despite my being considerably younger than him. Pat was an amazing person not only to me but to everyone in his life. He always called me to see how I was doing, even after he had become Ill. If I can say I learned anything from pat its to always stay positive, and to live life to the fullest. I will miss my cousin dearly. I love you Pat.

Less than four weeks before he passed way, I spent the night at his house. Trenda woke up early the next morning to go to work, he woke up a bit later to get ready for church, and I was up to get ready to drive back home. I mentioned to Pat how I was only going to drink coffee before I drive home because making a real breakfast was just too involved and time consuming. Without me knowing, Pat struggled, went down the stairs, and cooked breakfast for the both of us. He told me, "I don't want you to leave,and drive the long road without anything in your stomach."

Dear Pat, Words can't describe how much I miss you. You were and will always be a key component in all that is good in me. I was telling someone the other day how you were not only my cousin, but you were my brother and a father figure although we were only 8 years apart. Even though you are gone, I still find myself wanting to call to check up on you or ask for your opinion and advice. There is a void in my life right now that can not be replaced. A moment that you, Frantz, and I will always share is on the Tuesday before your passing, we were all in the room and Frantz asked you.."Hey Pat, you know Sam loves you right?"...And although by this time you were not speaking much, as clear as day, you said, "Tell me something I don't know". Well I'm glad you did know because I loved you with all my heart. As I sat by your bedside, you reached and put your hand on my head and told me everything will be alright. Although you passed on a the 17th, it is the Tuesday before that will always stay with me. As I come to terms with you no longer being here in the physical form, I will continue asking you for sound advice and there is no doubt in my mind you will be there for me. Love you Pat.

My fondest memory of my Uncle Pat/Godfather was summer of 2008 when I went to Ithaca for a summer program. The weeks leading up to it, he ensured that I had everything prepared for the weeks I would be spending on the college campus. He also drove me up to the program and when it ended came to pick me up. This is my fondest moment because it is when his godfather duties really shined as he stepped in as a father figure. He has the most caring heart and provided plenty of laughs on the 3 hour drive to and fro. My godparents like everyone else in my family have always been a great influence on my life. What I remember about every time I saw my godparents is them looking at each other and wondering where had the time gone since they had first baptized me. Although, Uncle Pat is not here on Earth I know he is in heaven watching how I grow. And I will continue to make him proud and remember his truest words - "God is faithful". There are no amount of words to express my love for him or how I will miss him. I trust that in the same quiet and abundant way he has shown his family love he feels how his family loves him all in their own way up to even the heavens where he continues to serve the Lord and watch over us.

Enough cannot be said about what an honest, amazing and honorable man Patrick was. Working with him was an immense pleasure, many memories were had that will not soon be forgotten. Dear Patrick and Trenda,
Thank you so much for having me in your life and knowing what a true sister and brother is. When Patrick/Trenda ask me to be part of there wedding party, I was so HONORED and speechless and jumped for joy at the same time. Wow me, I was thrilled and full of joy to be part two beautiful people that will become one on this special day 5/27/06. When I think of Patrick, I cannot help it but to go back to our high school days. His radiant smile was contagious, therefore passing him in the hallways, no matter what kind of day you were having, you couldn't help it but return that smile. He was one of the kindest and most respectful young man I knew. He will be missed greatly. For the wonderful family that I know he is leaving behind, take comfort in knowing that Patrick is in the tender loving care of His savior. Looking at the picture of him being baptized is a great reminder of that. As hard as this may be for all of you, I will continue to pray that the peace of God be with you all. Ive known Patrick for a little over 4 years through Working and Managing alongside his wonderful and strong Wife Trenda Jacques. I immediately befriended Trenda and fell in love with the relationship Trenda and Her Husband Patrcick Jacques have. I always seen them as a role model for me, but at the same time as the Parents I wish I had. Patrick is an AMAZING MAN, HUSBAND, FRIEND and ROLE MODEL. When i was going through so much in the short time ive known these two AMAZING PEOPLE, I would call Trenda and Patrick would already know who it was, He would say "Is that TY" and Trenda would say "Yes boo boo". Even what Trenda dont Know is when i would call and she was not home (which was plenty of times) Me and Patrick would talk and he would just be so patient to hear whats going on with me and my life and he would mentor me through everything. There were times i just new i couldnt get through something and I would call and Patrick would answer, just to hear his voice i knew things would get better because something about Patrick symbolized a father figure in my life i never had. This is the reason i would call and speak to Trenda and ask if my step Dad was there because Patrick was more than just a friend or Mentor to me and i can Imagine the love and blessings he exuded in other peoples life.

Pat always had a smile on his face and special care for his family and friends. My “Cuz” could always tell when I needed a little cheering up - something he never failed to do. The first time Pat went to Stamford Hospital I spent the night with him. I thought I was there to help him but it turned out that he would be the one taking care of me. He made sure the guest bed was fixed right and I was comfortable. We spent pretty much the whole night talking about growing up together - a time I will always cherish. He was more than happy to share his love history with me too. His wife, Trenda, proudly and confidently told me as well “ yes Keish, I asked him out, and I told him you will be my husband someday”. The last time we spent together I was in his room feeding him his favorite fruit "pine apple”. Until this day, I don’t know how it happened but I just finished feeding him when he reached to play with my hair while telling me they stopped the treatment. It seemed like he was more worried about me than he was for himself. That’s how caring and loving man my Cuz was, he touched our lives in many ways. He was a wonderful man and will be sorely missed; his memories will be in our hearts forever. Love Keish

Dear Fritz and family, Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your brother Patrick. Fritz, you are such a blessing to so many, may God wrap his arms around you and your family and give you all strength to get through this difficult time. Words can not express the heartache I am feeling, at such a tragic time of sorrow. It is a fact that anyone who knew Patrick was privileged and blessed to have such an opportunity. Patrick had this natural humanity and warm disposition about him he was always willing to lend a helping hand or provide spiritual encouragement. I will forever remember Patrick’s smiling face, from the very first time I met Patrick his friendly demeanor, put me at ease and made talking to him so easy. To the bereaved family of our Brother in Christ Patrick Jacques I bring wishes of strength, love, and unity in this grievous time. My family is well acquainted with the passing of close relatives and although there may be nothing that can be said to ease the pain, I would like to offer a word of wise council in this period of mourning... Allow yourself to feel the hurt, the grief, the pain, and the feeling of loss that accompanies the passing of your loved one. Completely embrace it and if you have to...cry a river. It is only in facing this situation head on that you will be able to deal with the emotions and move forward as an emotionally healthy individual. Mourning is a process, and suppressing the feelings of sorrow and loss will only prolong the pain and cripple your ability to love the ones that you still have with you in this life. The Word declares "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord (II Cor 5:8)". Patrick has transcended into a dimension that every man must cross into, and that every righteous man looks toward with excitement and anticipation. If we continue in the path that God has paved for us in this life, there will be great joy and celebration as we will be with Patrick again one day. We’re truly saddened by Patrick's death. Patrick was not just a cousin; he was an amazing person. His passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
