Obituary of Enrique Melendez

Enrique "Quique" Melendez, age 23, beloved son of Enrique Melendez Sr. of Georgia and Gloria Melendez of Bridgeport and his second dad Ruben Castano entered into a peaceful eternal rest suddenly on Friday, July 24, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital. Enrique was a lifelong Bridgeport resident. He was currently employed at Bridgeport Hospital as a Security Officer which was a position he truly enjoyed. He was known as an avid New York Yankees fan who clearly displayed that losing a game was not something he enjoyed. Enrique was a heart of Gold who was loved by everyone around him and in his short life touched many. He is survived by his brother Ruben Castano Jr.; his sisters Maria Ines Melendez, Maria Catalina Bradley and her husband Christopher, Maritza J. Ayala, Sylvia A. Melendez and her husband Noe Pillacella, Cristina I. Melendez and her husband Juan Carlos Cartagena; his nephews and niece Miles Bradley, Olivia Bradley, Paula A. Pillacela and Juan C. Cartagena Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will sorely miss him. Funeral services have been scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, 2009 beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, ( la Funeraria de NUESTRA Comunidad ), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. interment will follow in Park Cemetery; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
