Obituary of Joaquin Velazquez

Joaquin Velazquez, age 89, of Bridgeport passed into peaceful eternal rest on Tuesday, May 5,2009 in Griffin Hospital. Joaquin was a great father, man and friend to all that surrounded him. A heart of Gold has stopped beating and our hearts are saddened by his passing;He is the loving husband of the late Ramona Velazquez whom he was married to over 50 years before her passing; He leaves to cherish his memory his sons Israel "IZZY" Velazquez and his wife Neida, Ralph Velazquez and his wife Elsie, Ubaldo "BERT" Velazquez and his wife Carol; Daughter Iris Golding; Grandchildren Tina Martinez, Tamika Ferrante, Aleida Richter, Ralph Velazquez, Jr., Charice Labrador, Rene Velazquez, Dorette Carey, Serena Velazquez, Keisha Golding and Lashon Golding; Great Grandchildren Alisha Martinez Alina Martinez, Mariah Ferrante, Julian Ferrante, Ayden Ferrante, Jacob Castro, Noah Richter, Maria Velazquez, Avery Velazquez, Brianca Velazquez, Amanda Labrador and Mia Grace Carey; Brother Benito Velazquez and his sister Tuta Acevedo; and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends who will sorely miss him. Funeral Services have been scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 9, 2009 beginning at 8:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in ST. Charles Barromeo Church; Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 8, 2009 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, ( La Funeraria de Nuestra Comunidad ), 426 E.
