Obituary of Miguel Torres

Torres-Miguel Torres, age 58, of Bridgeport passed into peaceful rest on Sunday, October 1, 2006 in St. Vincent''s Medical Center. Miguel was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, but moved to the Bridgeport area since he was 8 years old. He has been employed by the city of Bridgeport for the past 18 years where he most recently worked at various schools maintaining them for our children. His most recent school was Wilbur Cross Elementary School; He was an avid fisher at Seaside Park where he spent some good times. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and in the mid 1980''s was an umpire for the Seaside Park Baseball Team. He was part of the United States Army and served for our country in the Vietnam War. He is the son of Alberto Torres of Bridgeport and the late Gloria Perez; Along to his father he is survived by his Wife Maria Torres, of Bridgport; sons, Ricardo Torres of Birdgeport and Eduardo Torres of Stratford; his daughter Mirna Torres of Bridgeport; brother William Torres of Bridgeport; sisters Noelia Oquendo Torres, of Puerto Rico, Evelyn Colon, Miriam Garcia and Elssa Torres all of Bridgeport; six grandchildren and many relatives and friends whom will dearly miss him. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2006 beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington AVe., Bridgeport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in ST. Peter''s Church; Interment will follow in St. Michael''s Cemetery, Stratford, CT; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeral Home. please sign our online guestbook.
