Obituary of Richard Rovira

ROVIRA Richard Rovira, age 70, of Stratford, passed into peaceful rest on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Facility, Stratford, Richard was born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, but moved to the United States when he was 15 years old. When he moved to the United States he First moved into New York then to the Bridgeport Area where he resided for many years before moving to Stratford. He was the son of the Late Enrique Rovira and the late Felicita Rodriguez; he is the beloved husband of Francisca " Paquita" Rovira of Stratford, who he married over 42 years ago. He was retired from the Jefferson Smurfitt Corporation where he was employed for more than 35 years. Along to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Deborah Gear of Spring, Texas, Nanette Wilson of Germany, Shirley Santiago of Worcester, Mass., Debra Rivera of Stratford, and Rosalynn Blackwell of Milford; his brothers, Felix Silva, Ricky Rovira; and sister Emily Silva, all of Puerto Rico; 10 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends; Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 13, 2007, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter''s Church; Interment will follow in St. Michael''s Cemetery, Stratford.
