Obituary of Blanca Rivera

Blanca I. Rivera, age 58, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Fidel Febus, passed into the eternal rest of the Lord on Thursday, April 10, 2008 in her home while surrounded by her loving family. Blanca was born in Cataño, Puerto Rico but moved into the Bridgeport area from an early age. She is the daughter of the late Francisco Gomez-Rivera and Santa Camacho-Padin; Blanca loved playing bingo with her church friends and never wanted to miss a game. She is survived by sons Domingo Rivera of Bridgeport and Juan Aponte Jr. of Bridgeport; her son in christ Angel Correa Jr. of Bridgeport; her stepdaughter Catalina Verasammy of Coventry, CT; her godaughters Sonya Rodriguez of Chandler Arizona & Juliana Beria of Bridgeport; her brothers Edwin Gomez and Francisco Gomez both of Bridgeport; her five sisters Anilda Pantojas of West Haven, CT, Gladys Malpica of Manati, P.R., Nilda Rivera of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Amelia Gomez and Ana Gomez both of Bridgeport; A special mention of Emma and Domingo Villafañe of Kissimee, Florida and her scorpion Twin Niece Santa (Mimi) Pantoja; and other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz ( member of the International Order of the Golden Rule ), 426 East Washington Ave. Bridgeport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, April 14, 2008 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
