Obituary of Ernesta Perez

Perez-Ernesta “TITA” “Nesta” Perez, passed away from this world to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 while in the comforting arms of her beloved husband of 41 years, Benjamin, in their home. Tita was well loved by her community as she helped everyone with a need whether it be clothing, food, childcare of spiritual counseling. Nesta was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Ernesto Torres and Flora Laboy currently of Puerto Rico; Nesta moved to Bridgeport in the early 1960’s. Her Bridgeport residency was only interrupted when she travelled with her husband, Benjamin, during his military career from 1963 – 1971; She was predeceased by her son Jorge Eduardo Perez; In addition to her husband and mother, Nesta is survived by a daughter Carmen Inez Perez Rivera of Hamden, CT; Brothers Ramon, Hector, Saul and Nestor; sisters Marta, Rufina, Maria Cristina, Luz Elena and Carmita; six grandchildren, Aaron, Tanya, Julian, Angeline, Priscilla, & Cecilia; and other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her; Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., in Bridgeport.Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Stratford; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
