Obituary of Aj Saez

AJ Saez, age 12, passed away on February 24, 2011 after an 8 month battle with leukemia. A remarkable young man, AJ’s greatest concern during his illness was for his loved ones not to worry or be upset . He brought so much joy and laughter to his family, friends and caregivers with his wonderful sense of humor, irreverence and quick wit. His hospital room was the place to be for a good laugh. You never knew what to expect with AJ. He kept the hospital staff on it’s toes with his pranks such as hiding a remote controlled whoopee cushion at the nurse’s station and then setting it off at strategic moments. AJ was a student at Beardsley School in Bridgeport and belonged to the Caribe and Park City Baseball Leagues. He loved baseball and was an avid Yankees fan, ARod was his man. During his illness, AJ was able to stay connected with his brother, cousins and friends through XBOX Live which meant a great deal to him. You could find AJ playing “Call of Duty Black Ops” at all hours. With AJ’s passing, we remind everyone that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him everyday, especially his winning smile, his sass, determination and spirit, we will carry him with us wherever we may go. He will forever live on in the hearts of his mother, Wilma, his special Titi Evelyn, sisters Emily and Kathy, brother Joel, nephews Thomas and Jayden and all his family and friends who were so privileged to know him. There is a special place in our hearts for AJ’s 2nd family - Dr. Joe, Becky and his special “Blue Ladies“. Calling hours are to be held at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (La Funeraria de NUESTRO Pueblo), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 6-8 P.M.; In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Children's Hopital and/or Bone Marrow Foundation in AJ's Memory.
