Obituary of Roberto Fernandez

Roberto Fernandez, age 89, of Bridgeport passed away to the Gates of Heaven above on Monday, December 13, 2010 in Northbridge Healthcare Center while surrounded by his loving family. Roberto was born in Cumanayagua, Cuba prior to moving into the Bridgeport area since 1967. He is the son of the Late Guillermo Fernandez and the late Dolores Engroba; Roberto was a great family man who worked feverishly to make sure his family had everything they needed. He worked many years two jobs which consisted of Exide Battery and the former Ocean Sea Grill where he had been employed over 22 years. Roberto loved dancing and had a great sense of humor that everyone who surrounded him enjoyed. His giving heart never ceased from thinking of anyone and everyone who he came in touch with who may have needed something. Whatever anyone needed, he made it a point of making it happen and never cared for recognition of the many lives he touched. It was only about giving and helping whoever he can. He is the beloved husband of the late Zenaida Fernandez; He is survived by his daughters Dolores Rodriguez and her husband Ralph of Bridgeport and Zenaida Poulin of Bridgeport; three grandchildren Brian Poulin, Roberto Castrillo and Michael Castrillo; Two great grandchildren Roberto Castrillo Jr. and Ahviana Castrillo; his brother Armando Fernandez and his wife Delia of Miami, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will sorely miss him; along to his parents he is predeceased by his son in law the Late Marc Poulin, a Special Aunt the Late Natalia Encroba, two brothers the late Angel Fernandez and the Late Octavio Feranndez & one sister the late Guillermina Fernandez; The Family would like to formally thank Lisa Lee APRN from Evercare for the unparalleled care she always gave that could never be repaid, to Dr. Heller for his awesome care, the Staff of Northbridge with special mention of Caswell Fowler who gave Roberto 3 years of Wonderful care and attention, Marcy Serrano, Dolly Campo, Clare Merva, Lynn Dubrevil and many others who never ceased from touching our lives for the care they provided. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, December 16, 2010 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Agustine's Cathedral.
