Obituary of Richard Caban

Richard Caban, age, 52 of Bridgeport entered into peaceful rest with the Lord on Sunday, May 30, 2010 in his home. Richard was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Rafael Caban and Theresa Caban of Bridgeport. Richard was a longtime Bridgeport resident and resided for many years at the Former Father Panik Housing Complex where he was known to many as "Slick Rick". Richard was a wonderful man with contagious smile that lit up any room he walked in; In addition to his mother he is survived by his daughters Maria Williams and her husband D. of Bridgeport, Margarita Caban and her soon to be husband Sammy Benders of Fairfield, Jessica and Nefi Mestres of Massachussetts, Stephanie Alicea and her husband Ricardo of Bridgeport, Patricia Caban and her husband Nigel Cunningham of Bridgeport and Yazmine Caban of Bridgeport; Eight Grandchildren Celestine Crooks, Kealanni Crooks, Trinity D. Williams, Hadasyah E. Mestres, Ricardo Alicea Jr., Tessanie Alicea, Tyrique Cunningham and Nigel Cunningham; son Abraham Santiago and his wife Rachel; Richard's fiance Awilda Figueroa of Bridgeport; siblings Robert Caban & Filiberto Santiago of Bridgeport, Daniel Rivera of Florida, Willy Rivera of New Britain, Jackie Claxton of Bridgeport, Marcial Rivera of Florida, Alberto Rivera of Bridgeport, Norma Rodriguez of Bridgeport and Frances Rivera of Meriden; his former wife of 37 years Carmen Padin; also survived by 2 brother-in-laws: Bruce Claxton,Ramon aka Pronostico; nieces and nephews: Paulie, Edwin, Juny, Angel, Louis, Gina, Christina, Ebony, Bruce, Asha, Chanel, Kayla, Jalen, Nelson, Edwin Jr. & other relatives and friends who will dearly miss him. predeceased by niece lucy & Sister Delilah; Friends are invited to attend caling hours on Monday, June 7, 2010 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, ( La Funeraria de NUESTRA Comunidad), 426 E.
