Obituary of Jose Berrios

Jose Alberto Berrios, of Bridgeport passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009 in St. Vincent's Medical Center while surrounded by his loving dear family. Jose was born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico before to the late Juan Berrios and the late Maximina Berrios before moving to the Bridgeport area many years ago. Jose was a loving caring man who was an active member of St. Mary's R.C. Church where he served as a Cursillista and President of El Santo Nombre; He was a faithful, Avid Yankee Fan and had played for a Puerto Rican Baseball League in 1952. 55 years to the day he married his beloved wife Carmen Berrios and together they were parents to three loving daughters Miriam L. Ramos, Yvonne Berrios and Madeline Mojica and her husband Victor; In addition to his wife, daughters and son in law, he is surivved by his seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; His dear sister Pura Rivera of Bayamon, Puerto Rico and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss him. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November17, 2009 beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (la Funeraria de NUESTRA Comunidad), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church. interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT. Calling hours are being held on Monday, November 16, 2009 freom 5:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
