To My Baby Brother Vital
The worst call I got is that you were gone today,
leaving so many words left to say.
But now it's too late, for the time has come,
words unspoken I am sure everybody has some.
I remember the days at the park
when we use to play from daylight to dark.
When I made you laugh for a while
and how that made you, just smile.
When Joe told me that you had died
I fell on the ground and started to cry.
How I got up I really don't know
Because it was so hard to just let you go.
Regrets and wishes are probably there too,
but lasting forever are memories of you.
I was there when you needed a place to stay,
just like you would be there for me night or day.
There have been many times that we disagreed,
but we were there for each other in time of need.
Now it's time for me to say Goodbye,
Until we'll see each other Vital in Paradise.

Favorite John Azevedo Memory: The night before my wedding, the bridal party stayed at a hotel, the boys in one room and the girls in another. Around 1 AM we hear a banging on our room door (the girls room), and noise in the hallway, I answer the door to find Peter (my husband now - it was the night before our wedding after all) on the floor laughing saying âCome out, you have to see thisâ, I stuck my head out the door to find John riding Peter's bike down the hall in his tighty whities pedaling away trying to reach the door of the boys room, jumps off the bike and dives into the room trying not be seen by the girls. Those are the memories that will keep us smiling through the tears. We love you John, the world will never be the same without your personality to shine a light.- Love Peter & Patricia Serrao

To my aunt, uncle and cousins, I was fortunate enough to view Vital's memorial service online and I wish I could have been there with you. I cannot express how sorrowful I am that Vital is no longer with us, but I'm trying to take comfort in the fact that he is in the loving arms of our Lord. I pray for strength and comfort for us all as we go through this dark time in our lives. He will be truly missed and forever loved. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. All my love, Francoise.

Joao was an amazing friend. He was a spirited soul that felt everything very intensely, if he loved you, he loved you for life. He was a very talented young man that loved his music. I remember the evenings we spent at the home, listening to him and his brothers playing music and eating dunkin donuts and just having the best time. Joao Vital Azevedo you broke our hearts.
